The Bear Trace
The Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain is in the heart of Tennessee’s scenic Cumberland Plateau. It is one of the most sought-after sites among the five Jack Nicklaus designed Bear Trace courses in Tennessee. The 6,900-yard (gold tees), par 72 layout features a design that capitalizes on elevation changes. Also, natural features, such as flowing brooks and clustered, mature pines. The signature 7th hole, a 393-yard, par 4, incorporates another of the regio’s natural resources. Also, layered flagstone, along the front of the green.
The Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain is named as one of the “Top Ten Courses in Tennessee”. This is by Golf Digest in 2001 and by Golf Magazine as “One of the Top Ten You Can Play” in North America in 1999.
